Traume er en oplevelse, der kan have en dybtgående indvirkning på dit liv. Når en person gennemgår en traumatisk begivenhed, forsøger de ofte at undgå de følelser, der er forbundet med den, og oplever dermed traumet. Hvis du oplever intens nød, flashbacks, frygt og angst, foruroligende tanker og undgår situationer eller personer forbundet med den traumatiske begivenhed, er det vigtigt at søge professionel hjælp fra en psykoterapeut og starte rejsen mod bedring. 

Hvad er Traume?

Traume kan påvirke dem, der har oplevet eller været vidne til en traumatisk begivenhed. Sådanne begivenheder kan være følelsesmæssigt eller fysisk skadelige eller livstruende og kan påvirke din følelsesmæssige, mentale, fysiske, sociale og generelle trivsel. 

Personer med traumer oplever ofte intens nød, foruroligende tanker og følelser relateret til deres oplevelse, som kan vare længe efter den traumatiske begivenhed. De kan genopleve begivenheden gennem flashbacks og minder, opleve dyb sorg, vrede, frygt og en følelse af løsrivelse fra andre. De kan undgå situationer eller personer, der minder dem om traumet, og have stærke negative reaktioner på triggere som høje lyde eller uventet fysisk kontakt.

Typer af Traumer

Der er forskellige måder, hvorpå man kan opleve traume, herunder: 

  • Relationel Traume: Seksuelt misbrug, voldtægt, vold i nære relationer.
  • Generations Traume: Tidlige barndomstraumer, vold i hjemmet, sorg og tab.
  • Posttraumatisk Stresslidelse (PTSD): Overfald, mobning, fødsel, krig, ulykker.​

Tegn på Traume

  • Påtrængende Følelser: Oplevelse af påtrængende tanker, foruroligende drømme eller flashbacks relateret til den traumatiske begivenhed. Levende minder, der får dig til at føle, at du genoplever oplevelsen.
  • Undgåelse: Undgå alt, der minder dig om den traumatiske begivenhed, herunder mennesker, steder, aktiviteter og situationer, der udløser foruroligende minder. Undgåelse af at tænke eller tale om begivenheden eller dine følelser omkring den.
  • Humørsvingninger: Vanskeligheder med at huske den traumatiske begivenhed, negative tanker og følelser, der fører til overbevisninger som “Jeg er dårlig” eller “Jeg kan ikke stole på nogen.” Skylde på dig selv eller andre, føle frygt, vrede, skyld eller skam, miste interessen for fornøjelige aktiviteter. Følelse af løsrivelse fra andre og ude af stand til at opleve positive følelser.
  • Reaktivitet: Irritabilitet, vredesudbrud, hensynsløs opførsel, selvdestruktive tendenser, øget paranoia og problemer med koncentration og søvn

​Mange mennesker oplever disse tegn inden for de første tre måneder efter et traume, og for nogle vedvarer disse symptomer i måneder eller endda år. Traume ledsages ofte af andre mentale helbredstilstande som depression, stofmisbrug, hukommelsesproblemer og andre fysiske og psykologiske problemer. 

At komme sig fra traume

Traume er noget, der er sket for dig, og du er mere end det. Traume kan forårsage betydelig nød for dig og dem, du holder af. Heldigvis er der effektive måder at håndtere og helbrede fra traumatiske begivenheder. Forskning viser, at Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) er effektiv til behandling af traume. Gennem ACT psykoterapi kan du begynde at komme dig over traumatisk nød og udforske nye måder at leve på, der går ud over den traumatiske begivenhed.
